Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
by Colleen Jobe
On our most recent trip to Walt
Disney World, my daughters got to experience a
wonderful treat! They both had the opportunity
to be made into princesses at the Bibbidi
Bobbidi Boutique. We chose our Spring Break trip
for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique experience
because the weather was cooler than our usual
The process of going to Bibbidi
Bobbidi Boutique started well before our actual
trip to Disney World. The first step was calling
to book our appointments. I knew I wanted to get
8:00 appointements at Magic Kingdom, so my
daughters could be dressed up all day. I called
about 120 days before our trip to schedule the
appointments and I had no trouble getting the
time and day that I had in mind. Next, we had to
decide what the girls were going to wear that
day. When I talked to the girls, they both
wanted to wear a princess dress. To my surprise,
both girls said they wanted to be Ariel. This
surprised me because my older daughter's
favorite princess is Cinderella. She also does
not like to be just like her little sister. In
the end, I discovered she wanted to be Ariel
because they both have red hair, and she wanted
to "really" look like the princess she was
dressing up like. I looked at the different
packages offered at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique,
and there is one that includes a princess dress.
I originally selected this option for my girls.
After doing some research, I decided it would be
better for us to purchase princess dresses from
the Disney Store and bring them along. So, we
went with the Crown package which includes hair,
nails, and make-up.
When the morning of our
appointments came along, it was very exciting.
It was our 3rd day at Walt Disney World and our
2nd day at Magic Kingdom for that trip. We woke
up early, and I washed and blow dred the girl's
hair. They put on their Ariel dresses and
already looked beautiful. It was a bit chilly,
so they put their jackets on over their dresses.
When we arrived at the park, we got to go
straight into Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
As soon as we entered Bibbidi
Bobbidi Boutique, we were warmly greeted by a
Fairy Godmother in Training. They took our
daughters' names and showed us our way to their
Fairy Godmothers. They had the girls seated
beside each other so we could watch both girls
easily. After the girls sat on their throne, all
decisions were theirs. The first choice they had
to make was their hair style. A pamphlet with
pictures of their choices was given to each
child. Both of my girls chose the "Fairytale
Princess" hairstyle which is a bun at the top of
their head. Their choice was crown selection. My
older daughter chose a crown with pink gems, and
my younger daughter chose crystal gems. This is
when everything really got started!
Next, they put a ponytail at the
very top of their head.
Then, they added the crown.
Finally, they topped the look
with a beautiful bun, and they were ready for
makeup! A choice of pink or light blue nail
polish was given. My older daughter chose pink,
and my younger daughter chose light blue.
The girls got to choose which
eye color and lipstick they wore.
Finally, the look was topped
with a sash, and it was time for the big reveal!
I have never seen her happier...and she is
As we got ready to check out, I
was surprised to find out each girl received a
backpack. Inside of that backpack was the makeup
and nail polish used to give them their look.
During their entire process, the
Fairy Godmothers in Training were talking and
interacting with the girls. It was clear they
were enjoying the experience along with my
Our experience didn't end there!
For the remainder of the day, my girls were
addressed as "Princess" and treated like
royalty. When we got back to the hotel that
night, the girls enjoyed playing with their
The next day, their hair style
was still in place, so they were princess for
another day. I watched really closely while they
were fixing their hair during this process, and
have used the crown and Mickey clip to recreate
the hairstyle for other occasions.
I asked my older daughter who is
in Kindergarten to write about her experience at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Here is what she had

I recommend Bibbidi Bobbidi
Boutique for anyone considering it. It is a very
special experience for little girls. My
daughters truly felt like royalty!
