Dumbo

It's From Screen To Theme Cruise Week, and this week we are going to be talking about the character on the back of the Disney Fantasy: Dumbo! Dumbo is the fantastic lead character in Walt Disney's 1941 film 'Dumbo.' In films he can be found in 'Dumbo,' and 'Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse.' In addition to that, he has cameos in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit,' 'The Great Mouse Detective,' and 'The Lion King 1 '.' In television, he can be found in 'House of Mouse,' 'Mickey Mouse Club,' and 'Dumbo's Circus.' He can also be found in the Kingdom Hearts series, Mickey Mousecapade, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, and Disney's Villains Revenge. Finally he can be found in other merchandise such as toys, clothing, books, pins, and many other things.

Dumbo lives at the Circus with his mother Mrs. Jumbo. The story of Dumbo is extremely sad. Everyone, humans and elephants, make fun of Dumbo because of his big ears. I could really relate to this movie when I was little because I was teased for having large ears. Dumbo has wonderful friends that help him including Timothy Mouse, Casey Jr., Mr. Stork, and the Crows. His enemies include the evil Ringmaster and The Pink Elephants in his hallucinations.

He is a baby elephant with massive ears. He wears a red and yellow collar sash and a yellow hat. Also in order to fly he holds a black feather with his trunk. He is extremely shy, but trustworthy and friendly once he opens up.

*FUN FACT* Dumbo is the only main character in any Disney film that doesn't speak.

He was animated by Vladimir Tytla. Also in Dumbo's Circus he was voiced by Katie Leigh. I highly recommend buying the Dumbo 70th Anniversary DVD Bluray that was recently released. It has some amazing special features on the DVD.

Dumbo can be found in Disney parks around the world. He can be seen in Fantasmic!, Flights of Fantasy Parade, Main Street Electrical Parade, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, which will become Dueling Dumbo's with an interactive queue after the Fantasyland Expansion is complete at Walt Disney World. Finally Dumbo will have tie ins on the new Disney Fantasy cruise ship: he will be seen on the back of the ship with Timothy Mouse.
